Your account

Delete your Farandole account.

You can do it yourself in the app, in three taps. No app any more? Ask us from here, and we delete it for you.

Farandole is run by Andreas Mavrocordatos, Luxembourg.

In the app

  1. Open Farandole and tap Settings, the round button at the top right of Home.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my data.
  3. Tap Delete everything.
  • It needs Wi-Fi or signal: our servers delete your data first, then the app clears the phone. If that fails, nothing is deleted and the app says so.
  • Signed out on that phone? The app asks you to sign in first, so we know it's you.

Without the app

Lost the phone, or removed Farandole? Ask us, and we delete your account for you.

  1. Open the form, choose Delete my account and give the email address you signed in with. Nothing else is needed.
  2. We write to that address to check it's you. Answer that email.
  3. We delete your account and its data, and tell you when it's done, within a month at the latest.

Or email contact@farandole.app from the address you signed in with.

Signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email? Then the address ends in privaterelay.appleid.com. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then find Sign in with Apple and Farandole. Can't find it? Write anyway, and we'll help.

What we delete

  • Your account, with its email address and every way you sign in: Apple, Google or an email code.
  • Every adventure you lead, with all its teams, photos and answers. The photo files go the same night.
  • Your history: the short lines about adventures you led or played while signed in.
  • Your place in an organisation, and its contact address if it is yours.
  • The notification address of each phone where you turned notifications on.
  • Your Farandole pass record, if you have one.
  • If you signed in with Apple, Farandole is also removed from your Apple ID. You can check at account.apple.com: Sign-In and Security, Sign in with Apple.
  • In the app, Delete my data also clears that phone.

What stays, and for how long

  • Adventures you played but didn't lead: your team's photos and answers stay with their leader until our servers remove the adventure, 30 days after the last thing that happens in it, or later if the leader keeps it. To have them removed from a kept adventure, write to us.
  • Signed-in players' history: each keeps one short line about an adventure you led, with its title, town and day and their own team's place. Ask us, and we remove your adventure's title and town from those lines.
  • A removal record: the id, the date and the reason, never what it held. It goes after 30 days.
  • Our backups: each is kept 7 days, so your data leaves them within 7 days.
  • Server logs, including each sign-in: 7 days.
  • Your messages to us, this request included: deleted once handled, within a year at the latest.
  • Copies outside our servers: each phone's own copy of the adventures it played, a backup file or a carnet you saved, and your phone's iCloud or Google backup. We can't reach them; delete them where they are.

Never signed in?

Then our servers know your phone only by a silent identity, with no name or email. In the app, Delete my data deletes it the same way. Without the app, nobody can reach it, not even us: our servers remove each adventure 30 days after the last thing that happens in it, and the identity once it has gone 90 days without use.

Only part of it?

  • One adventure you lead: in its leader area, tap Delete everything now.
  • A line in your history: Settings, Your history, Remove.
  • Your team's photos and answers in a kept adventure: write to us, and we remove them within a month.
